Transform Your Table for the Holidays

Blogger Lindsay Hines of Whimsy Girl Design has some Thanksgiving table decor ideas that will help you transform your dining room for the holiday season.

‘Tis the season for family, friends, food and fun! The holidays are upon us, and it is time to start thinking about your holiday plans. Whether you are hosting an intimate dinner for a few people or having the whole crew over for a feast, Tuesday Morning has all the essentials to get your table feeling festive!

If you have been in a Tuesday Morning store, then you know what a great selection of dinnerware they carry. I came across these white “stag head” dishes and knew they would be perfect for both fall and winter! I love using items that can easily transition from one season to the next… and in this case, one holiday to the next!

Gray linen napkins I purchased last year from Tuesday Morning add contrast to the table and bring in a pop of subtle color.

A collection of glass bottles stays on our dining table all year long. Changing the stems that fill them to coordinate with the season is such an easy and inexpensive way to create a new look. Cotton stems and Evergreen sprigs bring in a natural feel and seemed fitting for fall! The wheat bundles I picked up from Tuesday Morning added a nice texture to the overall look.

I finished off the Thanksgiving table decor with small white pumpkins and mercury glass votive holders to add ambiance to the room. When it is time to sit down and enjoy a meal with our guests, I can simply remove a few items to make room for serving pieces. I always tend to decorate for the season as a whole and then tweak the design to be functional on the day of the event. I love walking into my home and seeing a welcoming, festive table setting during the fall months!

When the time comes to pack up the pumpkins, the plates can stay put and be used again for Christmas! Once again, Tuesday Morning has everything you need to deck the halls! These battery operated “birchwood” candles I found at Tuesday Morning add a soft glow to the table. I love that they can be used over and over again!

These adorable, vintage inspired pine trees planted in whimsical tins caught my eye on the Christmas aisle. They are perfect for creating a focal point on the table and can be moved around easily if needed!

To add a personal touch, I placed a cute, wooden tree ornament at each place setting and a little dish of sweet treats for our guests to take home with them. The ornaments were less than a dollar and add a special touch to the table.

Thanks to my Tuesday Morning finds, I am all ready for the upcoming holidays! Are you?

My favorite Tuesday Morning department: This is a trick question, right? I love them all! I usually head straight for the furniture, then home decor, stop by the housewares and then end up in the seasonal department. I literally go down every aisle, you never know what you might come across!

A little about me: I am a wife and mom of 2 girls living outside of Dallas, TX. I love bargain shopping, antiquing, eating Mexican food and decorating my home!

What I love to write about: I love sharing my love for design, decor, DIY projects and great deals with my blog audience! It’s a fun place to connect with others who share the same interests!
