We partnered with Lindsay Hines, interior stylist and blogger of Whimsy Girl Design. She recently moved and shared her new home decorating ideas with us!
I would be willing the guess that moving is not anyone’s favorite thing to do. While the thought of a new home can be exciting, the process is often daunting. I recently moved into a new home after living in my last home for 4 years. While it was downright exhausting and not something I plan on doing ever again (I said that last time, too, opps), it did give me a chance to clean out the clutter and have a fresh start in my new home!
Once we got all settled in our new home, I took inventory of what we had and what we needed! I made a list of items we needed to purchase and was thrilled to realize that everything on my list was available at Tuesday Morning! It is always nice to have a one stop shop for everything you need! From kitchen necessities, storage and organization solutions to bath towels and furniture…Tuesday Morning has it all!
While I was packing my things at my old home, I noticed a lot of my kitchen items needed to go! Things like baking sheets, pots and pans, towels, scrub brushes, etc. can get worn out over time so I was thrilled that Tuesday Morning had all of those items at affordable prices!
A new cookie sheet and pot holders were on the list…and of course we had to test them out when we got home! Any excuse to make cookies works for me!
While shopping for the necessities, I came across this measuring cup set and fell in love! My old measuring cups were not this cute and they had seen better days, so I decided I “needed” these! I love that these are as decorative as they are useful…they sit out on my counter as décor when I am not using them.
Another item that I was in desperate need of was a new set of utensils. Over the years, a few of my spoons had gone MIA! With the affordable prices at Tuesday Morning, I bought a new set for a great deal! While picking out my new silverware, I also spotted this farmhouse style cutlery tray and it ended up in my cart, too! It fits great in my kitchen drawer, but I also love that it looks adorable out on the counter when I am entertaining!
I also picked up some new scrub brushes, kitchen towels and shelf paper…Tuesday Morning had everything I needed to get our kitchen ready to be used!
Once I was good to go in the kitchen department, I headed the bed and bath section. I could spend days in this part of the store. Their selection of towels, bath mats, curtains, bedding, sheets and pillows is amazing!
My daughter’s bathroom needed some new washcloths, a new bath mat, shower organizer, shower curtain hooks and a new shower curtain liner. Of course we found everything we needed within a few aisles!
After that section, we headed to the bedding area. I spotted these bamboo sheets and in the cart they went! I had seen these at another retailer for more than double Tuesday Morning’s price so I was excited about this purchase! I like to update my sheets often and it is always nice to have an extra set on hand!
Another great buy was this pick-stitch quilt set. It is always nice to update your bedding for a new look in a new home! This quilt is the perfect weight for summer and spring and I can just throw my duvet cover on top of it come fall and winter! I always find the most affordable bedding at Tuesday Morning!
As I mentioned before, I love the fact that Tuesday Morning is a one stop shop for everything you need for your home! I couldn’t help but to take a stroll through the décor, rug and furniture area, as I do every time I step foot into a Tuesday Morning store! And in true Tuesday Morning fashion, I left with some items that were not on the necessity list…but quickly made it onto the must have list!
This metallic, faux fur hide rug caught my eye for its unique appearance and whimsical feel. I had been on the hunt for a fun rug for my office sitting area and this certainly fit the bill! If you are in need of an instant update to any room, I recommend a new area rug!
I also couldn’t resist a new, cozy throw blanket…one can never have too many! It was the perfect addition to my sitting area! This area is one of my favorite spots in my new home!
Since moving in and getting all settled in our new home, I have already come up with another list of things to shop for! I cannot wait until my next shopping adventure at Tuesday Morning…this time I will try and stick to my list! I am not sure how that will go with all these goodies waiting for me…wish me luck!
