Preparing Your Home For Holiday Guests

We partnered with Rebekah of A Blissful Nest. Read how she created a welcoming retreat for holiday visitors using her favorite guest bedroom ideas and bedding, towels, home decor accents and more from Tuesday Morning.

Fall has officially begun and Thanksgiving is right around the corner. If you are like me, you are in major prep mode for the holidays. I love this time of year with lots of things to celebrate and spending time with friends and family. This also includes getting ready for all the holiday guests that will be coming into town. My guest room certainly gets used a lot at this time and there are some key guest bedroom ideas I have on hand to ready for my visitors.

guest bedroom ideas

I like our guest room to feel like my guest’s home away from home. But that is not always easy because everyone has different needs. So first and foremost, I like to invest in really quality bedding. Trust me, people can feel the difference. I am currently crushing on the new Peacock Alley flannel sheet set. It is really soft and during the winter, perfect to keep your guests nice and warm at night.

Next, I always like to have a welcome basket. I tend to customize this to whoever I know is coming. Some of my favorite items to include are cozy slippers, magazines, bath essentials, something sweet to nibble on and cute hand towels. These are all items your guests can take with them when they go too.

Aren’t these hand towels so cute?!! They come in lots of sayings (these one say Dream/Believe) and icons like crowns and fleur de lis. I think these also make amazing gifts for the holidays.

I love to add lots of cozy pillows to our guest bed like this fur pillow. It really is so comfy to lay against in the cooler months. Tuesday Morning has them in a few colorways that are great additions to all the rooms in your home.

Provide your wifi information for your guests by displaying it in a picture frame on the side of the bed. It gives them easy access to the information for all their devices they bring with them.

Add some fresh flowers to a vase in the room. Not only do they look pretty but they smell so good waking up to in the morning!

Speaking of delicious smells, adding a candle to the room with some matches is a nice touch too. I pick scents that are light and airy and Tuesday Morning has so many to choose from!

Trust me, adding special thoughtful touches like these will not go unnoticed by your guests this holiday season! For more guest bedroom ideas to preparing your home for the holidays, pop over and check out Tuesday Morning’s Pinterest board “Guest Room Refresh.”
