Create a Festive Harvest Tablescape to Celebrate the Changing Season

See how Mariah of Giggles Galore used fall table decorations from Tuesday Morning to create a festive harvest tablescape to celebrate the changing season.

Autumn is in the air and I can’t wait to celebrate one of my favorite times of the year. Fall is a season for falling leaves, football, family and friends. As the temperatures start to cool down it’s the perfect time to gather together for a fall fete.

This rustic and refined table setting can be used throughout the entire fall season. You can welcome fall with a delicious dinner party for friends and then wow family when it’s your turn to host Thanksgiving. When it comes to entertaining, my motto is always simple is best, but that doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice style. The Queens by Churchill tableware is the perfect mix of stylish, casual and vintage all in one. Paired with rustic fall table decorations like a burlap tablecloth, wood chargers and nature inspired garland help keep it from feeling too formal.

Layering place settings, varying colors and adding patterns and textures are a great way to make your table setting pop.

When designing a tablescape, I like to take cues from popular home decor and fashion trends. Combining mixed metals in all different hues is all the rage and it can give your table setting a classy and modern look. It’s as simple as using vintage gold flatware, embellished glasses and warm tones in your centerpieces.

Take the guess work out of where your guest should sit and create simple place cards with scrapbook paper and gold vinyl stickers. Tie the cards to your gold flatware and add a pheasant feather for a rustic touch.

Now that your table is set, it’s time to start thinking about what you’ll serve. Fall into autumn with the flavors of the season and remember you don’t have to spend hours in the kitchen preparing a delicious meal. Cheese boards are always a crowd favorite and truly one of the easiest appetizers to throw together. Pair sweet, salty and savory components on a slate cheese board. I love that while you’re shopping for fall table decorations at Tuesday Morning you can also pick up unique and flavorful condiments, like the spicy jalapeno stuffed olives and jellies, for your cheese board. One of my other favorite ways to include touches of fall is to use natural elements like pumpkins or squash as serving dishes.

Serve hearty fall dishes like delicious Basil Chicken ChiliRoasted Orange Glazed Carrots and your favorite slow roasted meat. Don’t forget to end the evening on a sweet note! I love to serve mini desserts when I’m entertaining, they are easy to prepare and it gives everyone the chance to sample a little bit of all the delicious treats. I piled homemade cinnamon pumpkin bread, mini pecan tarts, pumpkin chocolate chip cookies, dark chocolate sea salt bark, mini bundt cakes on my new marble serving platter for a quick and easy dessert display. With all these delicious flavors and a beautiful table setting you and your friends will soon be ready to welcome fall!

My favorite Tuesday Morning department: It’s impossible to pick a favorite, but I always gravitate to the Dining & Kitchen and Holiday & Party sections first. I love entertaining and I’m always on the hunt for colorful and unique dishes. And I may have a small obsession with collection cake stands and paper straws!

A little about me: I have been married to my best friend for 14 years, and I’m the lucky mom to our 9 year old daughter and 7 year old twins. I have a passion for celebrating and have been entertaining and throwing parties since I was a freshman in high school. I believe that the little details are what set ordinary events apart from extraordinary events, even in every day life! When I’m not planning parties or creating craft projects for Giggles Galore you can find me spending time doing what I love, traveling, cooking, eating Mexican food and having impromptu dance parties with my kids!

What I love to write about: I have fond memories of traditions, celebrations and homemade gifts from my childhood. My mother was a creative soul who thrived on sharing her passion and talent with others. Fast forward a few years and now I love sharing updated versions of those special memories. I created Giggles Galore to inspire families to celebrate life’s little moments with creative, budget friendly ideas. I love to write about and share tutorials for kids crafts, DIY projects, recipes and of course, my favorite parties! No matter what I’m writing about, one thing is certain, you will find lots of tips and hints for creating memorable occasions with the most important people in your life.

With so many people displaced because of the flood I think it would be a great idea to open earlier than 10:00 a.m. I went to your store on the corner of Jones creek and it was closed due to the flood. I went to your store in Hammond Aire shopping center and there were five people there at 9:30 to go shopping and you were not open. I had to go shopping somewhere else. You are losing potential customers because of this… Just a suggestion.
