How to Make a Clipboard Photo Holder

For National Craft Month, I am excited to share a fun DIY photo holder tutorial with you by using simple paper crafting supplies and a mini clipboard.

I love going to my local Tuesday Morning to stock up on fun scrapbooking and paper crafting supplies for a fraction of the cost. If you don’t know if you have a Tuesday Morning in your area, you can easily use the Store Locator feature here to find the nearest store to you.

For this project, you will need to gather some supplies such as fun patterned scrapbooking paper, embellishments, and a mini clipboard. I love this mini paper pack by Pink Paislee that I got at a great price. The mini clipboard was a deal at Tuesday Morning too!

If you have ever shopped at Tuesday Morning then you know that each store varies a bit in the selection of items that they carry. Since there is no exact way to decorate this mini clipboard photo holder and the ideas are endless, I suggest finding embellishments that work with your photo and personal style. I am a big fan of the embellishment kits from Maggie Holmes and chose to use them for my project.

Once you’ve found paper to use for your photo holder, size it down to fit your clipboard and then adhere it using glue or double sided tape. I also love using washi tape in place of glue to give it a more unfinished look.

After you have attached your patterned paper as the base, lay any embellishments you want on top of the paper. I would suggest adding your photo first then building on top of that. Keep in mind that there is no right or wrong way to decorate and that each photo holder will be unique.

You could also journal on a small piece of cardstock and attach it to your photo holder to remember the event or date the photo was taken. I love creating these mini clipboard photo holders and hanging them around the house! They make great gifts too!

It’s a super easy DIY project that won’t break the bank or take you all day to complete.

Great idea! I am going to start sending cards to cancer patients, and the group that does this says that we can make gifts for them, so I have been trying to find inexpensive ideas, that are for all ages and sexes, and not one with anything about them being ilk, just fun and cute things that they can enjoy, and ones that I may be able to make many of AND send. So if you get more ideas I cannot wait to see what you come up with! I wish we had a Tuesday morning around here, or better yet, that they would have an online store! Bless you. I am glad that I found your website! Thanks for your time to help us with projects!
