December’s Color Palette
Happy December! Last month, I showed you how easy it can be to transition your seasonal décor by changing just one color in your decorating color palette. I’m back with the final post in this series to show you how to make one more color swap to quickly transition into December.
I can’t believe that November is already over…it seems like just yesterday that I was switching out my green accents for gray ones to update my fall decorating for the harvest month. Now it’s time to transition my décor for December. To do that, I’ll keep my brown and gray accents and add in some red.
What I love about decorating with a reds + grays + browns color palette this month is that it can easily be rustic or modern, depending on your usual decorating style.
Products I Love
1.My cheery red chair is already a comfy spot to curl up with a book, but this gray Sferra throw from Tuesday Morning makes it even more inviting on chilly winter mornings. It’s amazingly soft! And the red poinsettia pillow, also from Tuesday Morning, adds a touch of holiday whimsy.
2.I snagged the very last one of these mercury glass trees, otherwise I would have gotten a couple more! It adds a welcome bit of shine to my mantel.
3.Not only is this deep gray candle the perfect complement to my December color palette, but it smells heavenly as well.
The Extra Touch
4.Instead of rustic country, go English country this season! Bring a touch of the British Isles to your holiday décor with crisp tartan plaid accents for a change of pace.
5.This vignette blends natural and modern elements together for a delightful look, all in the red + gray + brown color scheme.
6.For a more modern take, add metallic and mirrored accent pieces to your décor (like the mercury glass tree I found!).
This year, we’re keeping our Christmas decorating to a minimum, but thanks to these little festive touches and one quick color change to my decorating palette, I was able to add a little holiday spirit to our home!
