Americana Essentials for 4th of July

Independence Day is just around the corner and Tuesday Morning has all the 4th of July decorations you’ll need to celebrate in style! Whether you’re having a BBQ with friends or maybe a small celebration at home with your family, I’ve got the perfect tips for creating that Americana atmosphere for your home.

4th of july decorations

Create a warm and inviting space with an intimate seating arrangement stocked with comfy pillows. The Tuesday Morning pillow aisle is my favorite place to shop for pillows and these gorgeous white knit ones go with everything! I love that I can take them from inside on my sofa right to my patio to create a relaxing spot in my backyard.

I always like to add candles for ambience and it really helps set the mood for an evening get together. I just love this ceramic hurricane vase and this delicious smelling candle. Of course, make it coordinate with your red, white and blue décor with some flowers and you have a beautiful centerpiece for your outdoor coffee table.

Speaking of coffee tables, I spotted these zinc planters at my local Tuesday Morning and just knew they would make the perfect outdoor coffee tables. I love using items in different ways than which they are intended for. It definitely gave me that modern look I was after.

Using a tray, like this red one that can be picked up and passed around, is so useful for a party. I loaded ours with blue and white melamine plates, a bowl full of blueberries and nuts and some festive napkins. Definite essentials for the hostess to be carrying around don’t you think?!

I also grabbed this oval red bin to match and put ice and drinks to be kept cold in it. I love how it really pulled everything together and was super functional.

Create a serving station for your guests to walk up to. I used our antique potting table and laid down this blue and white modern striped runner.

11I like mixing and matching items. It makes your décor a little less predictable. I mixed and matched these vintage looking red glasses with these navy wide striped glasses and then popped in these two-toned striped straws. I think it gives a fun twist to the table décor!

I picked up this faux boxwood wreath and streamed these darling red, white and blue lanterns through it. I love that later I will be able to use the wreath on my front door.

Have you ever walked down the food aisle at Tuesday Morning? I am always blown away at their selection. From salsa/dips, olive oils to gourmet snack items, there is always something there I find I just have to have.

I picked up some of this delicious raspberry jam and bagel crisps and paired it with some cream cheese. Super simple and added a little gourmet touch!

I always like to create a signature drink for a get together and I found the perfect drink dispenser with this amazing rope detail on it for my special drink recipe. It gave me that little nautical touch I was looking for for my Americana display. It will be a forever staple for me when I entertain in the future!

Adding texture and pattern is huge when I design. I think it can make or break a space. I love how Tuesday Morning has a great selection of towels, napkins and linens for me to achieve this look. I generally mix and match my own but these napkins came in a set of 3 and just added that touch of pattern to my table that I was looking for. Plus, they are so functional and ready to use tucked right into this drawer.

A little about me: I am a native Californian but moved to Dallas 3 years ago. I absolutely love living in the South but still miss seeing the beach every day. I love going junking on the weekends with friends and am constantly reinventing the rooms in my home. I love moving pieces around that I already own to create a new look! My days are full with my design clients, running A Blissful Nest and being a soccer mom on the weekends. I wouldn’t have it any other way!

What I love to write about: I love writing about design tips and how to get a designer look with not a whole lot of effort. I love mixing unusual color combinations with unique pattern mixes. Everyone deserves a blissful home with their own personal signature touch!

Awesome ideas!! I am afraid of getting too red, white and bluey and never using the items ever again. I will definitely use some or all your creative ideas for my Fourth of July party!!
