We partnered with Rebekah of A Blissful Nest. See how she used Tuesday Morning finds to style her space with six of this year’s top home décor trends in mind!
I love a fresh start to the year which includes updating my home décor. Cleaning out the clutter and adding in some signature pieces to my home, makes it feel warm and refreshed. I have been already seeing some patterns in home décor that are classic and timeless. So, take a nod to this year’s top home décor trends to freshen up your space and be on trend with the experts!
Trend 1: Pantone’s Color of the Year – Greenery
If you did not know, Pantone comes out every year with their “Color of The Year.” This is the color they feel will dominate the home décor market for the upcoming year. This year, they have introduced Greenery. It is a limey grass green color with a very bright and summery feel to it. Sometimes these colors are hard to add into your home when you try to imagine them in a large scale. My best tip is to add them in accessories like vases, pillows and even accent pieces of furniture.
Trend 2: Use Salvaged Finds
This trend is huge right now with the popularity of home renovation television shows. These salvaged pieces can have a high price ticket on them though. I love that you can find items with the salvaged look at Tuesday Morning for a fraction of the cost! This gorgeous angel wing is the perfect rustic element to my mantle.
Trend 3: Woven Baskets for Storage Solutions
It is no new news to use baskets for storage, but the big trend is to have a collected look of them in a room. I used this two-toned one to house a plant and another for extra pillows. They add tons of texture to a room and are easy to relocate when you are done using them. Look for varying sizes, shapes and colors for an eclectic look.
Trend 4: Mixed Metals
Some people might cringe on this one but I am here to tell you it works and looks beautiful! Mixing metals in the past has been a no no. But today they really brighten the room and add some depth. My best tip in doing this is to treat one as the foundation and the other as an accent just like I did with the silver tray and pineapple then mixed in the gold geometric candle holder.
Trend 5: Succulents
I love this trend! I am notorious for killing plants and succulents are the hardiest ones out there. But I have to tell you, I still will be getting these faux ones from Tuesday Morning because they look amazing and I don’t have to remember to water them. You can get ones like this in a stone looking container or smaller ones to place on bookshelves. I love tucking little succulent plants here and there in my home. Succulents instantly give a space a more modern edge.
Trend 6: Blue and White
If you follow my blog then you know I am a HUGE blue and white fan. I have a piece in almost every room of my home. I have been ecstatic to see it becoming more and more popular lately. You can add a big collected look with ginger jars or accent furniture pieces or keep it more simple and refined with a small piece like this one above.
