6 Home Décor Trends to Look for in 2017

We partnered with Rebekah of A Blissful Nest. See how she used Tuesday Morning finds to style her space with six of this year’s top home décor trends in mind!

I love a fresh start to the year which includes updating my home décor. Cleaning out the clutter and adding in some signature pieces to my home, makes it feel warm and refreshed. I have been already seeing some patterns in home décor that are classic and timeless. So, take a nod to this year’s top home décor trends to freshen up your space and be on trend with the experts!

Trend 1: Pantone’s Color of the Year – Greenery

If you did not know, Pantone comes out every year with their “Color of The Year.” This is the color they feel will dominate the home décor market for the upcoming year. This year, they have introduced Greenery. It is a limey grass green color with a very bright and summery feel to it. Sometimes these colors are hard to add into your home when you try to imagine them in a large scale. My best tip is to add them in accessories like vases, pillows and even accent pieces of furniture.

Trend 2: Use Salvaged Finds

This trend is huge right now with the popularity of home renovation television shows. These salvaged pieces can have a high price ticket on them though. I love that you can find items with the salvaged look at Tuesday Morning for a fraction of the cost! This gorgeous angel wing is the perfect rustic element to my mantle.

Trend 3: Woven Baskets for Storage Solutions

It is no new news to use baskets for storage, but the big trend is to have a collected look of them in a room. I used this two-toned one to house a plant and another for extra pillows. They add tons of texture to a room and are easy to relocate when you are done using them. Look for varying sizes, shapes and colors for an eclectic look.

Trend 4: Mixed Metals

Some people might cringe on this one but I am here to tell you it works and looks beautiful! Mixing metals in the past has been a no no. But today they really brighten the room and add some depth. My best tip in doing this is to treat one as the foundation and the other as an accent just like I did with the silver tray and pineapple then mixed in the gold geometric candle holder.

Trend 5: Succulents

I love this trend! I am notorious for killing plants and succulents are the hardiest ones out there. But I have to tell you, I still will be getting these faux ones from Tuesday Morning because they look amazing and I don’t have to remember to water them. You can get ones like this in a stone looking container or smaller ones to place on bookshelves. I love tucking little succulent plants here and there in my home. Succulents instantly give a space a more modern edge.

Trend 6: Blue and White

If you follow my blog then you know I am a HUGE blue and white fan. I have a piece in almost every room of my home. I have been ecstatic to see it becoming more and more popular lately. You can add a big collected look with ginger jars or accent furniture pieces or keep it more simple and refined with a small piece like this one above.

These on trend items will make your home feel warm and stylish for the year! For more ideas on how to decorate your home with this year’s hottest trends, pop over and check out Tuesday Morning’s Pinterest board “#TrendAlert.”

My favorite Tuesday Morning department: The Pillows!

A little about me: I am a native Californian but moved to Dallas 3 years ago. I absolutely love living in the South but still miss seeing the beach every day. I love going junking on the weekends with friends and am constantly reinventing the rooms in my home. I love moving pieces around that I already own to create a new look! My days are full with my design clients, running A Blissful Nest and being a soccer mom on the weekends. I wouldn’t have it any other way!

What I love to write about: I love writing about design tips and how to get a designer look with not a whole lot of effort. I love mixing unusual color combinations with unique pattern mixes. Everyone deserves a blissful home with their own personal signature touch!

Since you no longer haves store I can visit in Lakeland, Florida can you include crafting products on this site? Things like Darcie embossing folders, card stock, etc.

Your consideration to this would be appreciated.
    Thank you,

Hi Nancy! Unfortunately due to the closeout nature of our store, we are not able to offer online shopping at this time. Since our inventories vary by location, your best bet is to visit or call a store near you to find the items you’re looking for. You can find another store in the Tampa area by entering your zip code here: We’re so sorry for any inconvenience!!

Love the store and the blog. Great decor ideas as a reasonable price.

In that first picture, how did you get the vase to sit straight when it is sitting on a stack of slanting books? Is the bottom of the vase slanted?

Love the angel wings to put on the mantle. I have a special connection to angel wings. Since I’ve been going through some terrible health problems the last 3 months, I realize the importance of angels in ones life. They are all around us. I am going to take a trip over to Tuesday Morning today so that I can purchase these for my mantle. I never want to forget those angels around us. Thanks Tuesday Morning.

Those books aren’t slanted, optical illusion.

Would like to see our store in Temple, Texas become bigger with more merchandise. A lot of us love this store, but so old and dark. Would love to see the new merchandise you show for 2017 in a new big beautiful store. We all in this area will be there to support it.
    Thank You

I absolutely LOVE this store! Became a fan while living in FL and moved back home to PA and found one very close…I was ecstatic! I find some unique piece each and every time I visit. I’m into the bluish-grey of the turbulent ocean and blush of the setting sun hovering over the water. Going this week again to check out furniture pieces. Wish me luck!

I was wondering if you could tell me where the speckled vase can be purchased. It’s featured in your picture with the mixed metals on the silver tray with the silver pineapple. I absolutely love it!!!! Thank you! Shelley
